Well folks, this is it and it’s official: Wonder Girls‘ leader Sun Ye has publicly announced her engagement to her boyfriend!

All the details are found on the above linked article. But why the sudden mention of the Wonder Girls on this blog after several months of hiatus/disappearance? I don’t know how many of you readers are aware, but I primarily started this blog BECAUSE of the Wonder Girls. If you back track far enough, and disregard my poor grammar and writing, you can find those articles.

For those not in the know, I was quite into the Wonder Girls. The group marked my first official fandom of the new age of kpop and I had invested much time into the group. From Irony to present, when HyunA and SunMi left and Yubin and Hye Lim came in, I have followed this group from the very beginning.

However, that’s not to say I have stayed with this group through and through. As time progressed, my dedication admittedly dwindled and I was unable to support the group as I once had. But to finally hear this “disbandment” officially, it definitely strikes the wrong chord on this old wonderful’s heart.

You know, because of this group, I had met and befriended a large variety of people, people I would have never otherwise met. It’s strange to think you can form such a strong connection with someone you never met before, but hey guys, fandom does some crazy shit. Some people I’ve lost contact with and others I can consider pretty damn near best friend status. Regardless, the moral of the story, the Wonder Girls made it happen.

From our crazy times at the spec forums shout box to the Wonder Girls/Jonas Brothers’ tour stop in DC (HOLLAAAAAAAAA!!!), I’ve met a lot of amazing people and have made several equally amazing memories. I will never forget any of you, and I hope we can still manage to come together as a SPEC FAMBAM! Once a wonderful, always a wonderful!

And to sum up this disconnected piece of faux journalism, I would like to extend my congratulations to Sun Ye and her fiance. Dear sir, you are one LUCKY man. Wonderfuls from around the world hope you two have the best life together, and we hope you treat her with all the love and respect she deserves.

To the rest of the Wonder Girls members past and present, wonderfuls and kpop fans alike will continue to support them in their future endeavors in all that they do. May great success and happiness come their way.

And with that closes a chapter in my life, but let it be known that this wonderful legacy has only just begun.

And I am absolutely floored. That’s a good thing I swear!

I’ve been away for a while (and truthfully I don’t believe I’ll be keeping this blog up to date for much longer due to personal time constraints and real life), but I come back to this PV and man, am I impressed! You know, I never thought I’d constantly be praising UFA’s creative department, but with each successive recent PV release, it’s quite difficult not to! I will edit this post later with screen caps.

First off, when the song first came out, I was pretty impressed. The song follows the recent trend of a modern sound, with an over abundant reliance on auto-tune and club-ish beats pumping in the background. It’s kind of generic, but it caught on with me pretty quickly. Though everyone has a line, it would be nice to actually be able to distinguish the voices without that painful autotune masking their individuality.

As for the PV, the background setting kind of confused me. But I was a big fan of the lights and the light-up block thing the girls took turns laying on. It fit the tone of the PV very well, and hell, you can’t deny how sexy they all look just laying there *wink*. The solitary posing (group and solo) were a nice balance to the energetic and unique choreography. I don’t know about you guys, but if it wasn’t for the choreography I would have probably dismissed this song quite easily. I love everything about the choreography. It just transcends the usual line up and adds from desperately needed variety into the mix! Can’t speak anything but praises about it!

As for the effects, well another round of high fives for the creative department! Compared to the overwhelming acid trip that was One Two Three, the effects for this PV were a lot more subdued and thank god. It complimented the subdued color tone of the PV, which allowed the girls to stand out beautifully in their neon outfits (hooray for Reina’s cat ears, btw). My only subtle complaint comes with the fire effects. UFA, seriously, you gotta calm down your inner pyro.

The outfits are tolerable, but those colors man! A bit too neon for my personal taste, but hey, it works pretty well with the PV. And another shout out to Reina’s cat ears.

Overall, definitely pleased with the outcome! The company is learning from its mistakes slowly but diligently and it definitely shows in their recent promotion efforts! Great job, UFA. You’ve left me relatively speechless and incredibly pleased! Best part? This is apparently only the temporary version. Can’t wait to be hit full throttle with the final!

I sincerely apologize for just vanishing this past month. Life kind of got carried away, so please forgive my negligence. Anywho, let’s get on to the meat of the matter.

For quite some time, fans and nonfans alike have stated that the end of Morning Musume would be soon. Whether these feelings sprouted due to a graduation announcement or a new generation audition, people were always ready to just throw in the towel and say the group was finished. And yet surprisingly, graduations have come and gone, and new faces continue to enter the group; new single releases continue to be announced and we continue to be completely floored by the sheer sleekness of the choreography, the catchy modern twist to their songs, and the continuously improving vocal prowess of the members. And fans are still hanging around.

But we wouldn’t be a fandom if we did not have those fans that continuously bitched about every little thing. “I hate the line distribution,” “This doesn’t even sound like Morning Musume anymore,” “Bring back so-and-so!!!” and the like. And while some people offer actual arguments of substance, others are just stated out of butt-hurt whining and probably to stir shit up in the fandom. Well congrats, you fans, you get the dumbfuck of the year award.

Anyway, pardon my cattiness. I haven’t had my coffee yet. With the release of the new album (which I swear I will write up a review for some time today…), the girls have shown a new, fresh side to their musical palette that I’ve definitely embraced with arms wide-open. And it seems I’m not alone in that sentiment! Old fans seem to enjoy the new vibe, and new fans are coming in, obviously attracted by the revitalized freshness the group has brought to the table. And yet people still worry?

Now fast-forward to a few hours ago this morning when Tsunku announced the solo 11th gen member Oda Sakura. While some fans were concerned over her lonesome acceptance into the group, I have a feeling she’ll be quite alright. The bright 13 year old former Egg has finally been given the chance to be a part of something incredibly monumental, with the momentum strongly on its side. If you missed the audition footage, check it out below:

So are we still worried? The girl has some pretty damn good vocals, especially for her age. And it’s not just that guttural shouting that many often credit member Sayashi Riho with. With a bit more training and fine tuning, Oda’s voice has the potential to be something amazing…much like the other members of the current line up. While the group is taking baby steps to having a less rigid vocal line-up, we cannot deny the heavy reliance on members Tanaka Reina and Riho. I say this time and again, but Reina and Sayu’s time are coming to an end, and heavy concentration must be placed on the rest of the line up in terms of vocal training otherwise, yes, certain fans’ anxiety will be justified.

Some people are already calling her an ace of the group. Well, while I do believe she will be in due time, I hate the term “ace.” It just makes everyone else seem so painfully incompetent, when they’re obviously not. Given the proper training and self-diligence, each and every girl of the 9th, 10th, and 11th generation can grow into an ace candidate. And even if they aren’t, you don’t need to be an “ace” performer to catch the eye of the adoring public. Take a look at Sayu as a current example. People will still say her singing voice is like a nail to the chalkboard, but she has improved immensely since her audition days and the public recognizes her readily. While she is no Maki Goto on stage, she excels on variety television like a pro, like an “ace” dare I say it.

But am I worried? Not in the least. For those fans complaining about the new members, you never gave them a decent chance, or your patience isn’t good enough to give the girls an opportunity to grow. For the fans complaining about the “new” music genre of recent singles, you’re being a bit parochial with your tastes. Take this as a moment of musical metamorphosis that compliments the ever-changing, revitalized image of the group’s line up. So instead of putting all your negative energy into whining and complaining, how about you fans learn to shut your mouths and listen, look, and take it all in – I mean REALLY take it all in – before you spew out ignorant and hateful comments for the sake of getting your opinion out on the internet where no one essentially cares. Give the girls a chance, and maybe you’ll be surprised. Hell, maybe you’ll even join me on the bandwagon of no-anxiety.

There isn’t much the idol industry can throw at me that would honestly leave my mouth wide open in shock, but with the rumor mill spurting out the terms “Goto Maki” and “AV” in the same sentences, well you try keeping your mouth shut.

MSN and Infoseek have recently released articles describing said rumors of former Morning Musume member Goto Maki making her AV industry debut shortly after releasing a nude photobook. So, cat got your tongue too? Now, mind you this is her life and she can do whatever she pleases with it. If she wants to retire from singing/performing, fine. If she wants to get into gravure and AV, that’s fine too. Despite my personal feelings regarding the issue, I’m sure there will be fans and non fans alike roaming around that are more than thrilled about these rumors.

However, one can easily sympathize along with the H!P/Momusu fandom in all this hubbub. Although she was ever the shining star on stage with her gift for show-stopping performances and jaw-dropping vocals, it was no secret to anyone that Maki had it pretty rough growing up. Issues with her brother and her mother’s sudden death had all but circulated like wildfire, obviously doing nothing to help her emotionally. Maki had just recently announced her hiatus from avex and kept up her relatively low profile up until her surprise appearance at the Dream Morning Musume concert.

All of a sudden fans were speculating of Maki’s possible return to the UFA. Photos of her “meet-up’s” with Tsunku had fueled the fire, but simmered into nothing once the former idol slipped into the shadows once again. And then this happened. I believe we’re all just kind of disappointed/sad/shocked with how this all turned out (if it’s true) because Maki is obviously a star in her own right, with all the talent in her arsenal to back it up.

But as a diva with a sexy, wilder side, I suppose it’s not too much of a deliberate shock. Besides, many an idol has walked this path toward AV and they seem to be doing just fine. Yes, it’s not the most glamorous and respectable of occupations, but you can’t decide what these women should do anyway.

I think the underlying hostility from the fans just goes into the whole possibility of this rumor smearing the Morning Musume name. Well, yeah no doubt the media will be like, “MAKI GOTO, FORMER MORNING MUSUME MEMBER AND AVEX SOLO ARTIST, WILL BE DEBUTING AS AN AV STAR BLAH BLAH BLAH!” And of course, there will be those people that are disgusted and disappointed with the decision and they may or may not continue to support the group because of it. Though, in my honest opinion, not supporting a group that a former-member-turned-AV-star was a part of once upon a time is pretty damn stupid if you ask me.

So, if the rumor mill is right with this one, here’s hoping the AV industry will treat Maki better and give her some damn happiness she deserves after all these years. And if it’s just a rumor, well that’s fine by me. It’ll be interesting to see what her former kouhais will say if she does delve into AV, but as for me, I suppose I’m indifferent. It’s up to you whether or not you want to continue supporting the woman, but it is important to realize that porn doesn’t exactly erase the talent from the woman. Heck, it just might expose you to something new!

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, but a recent release by one of my personal favorites sparked the need to spread the word. For July’s artist plug feature, I’ll be introducing you to the rising Mandopop sensation Anthony Neely!

Anthony Neely (or 倪安东 as his fans in Taiwan probably call him) was born and raised in the Bay Area of sunny California by an American father and a Taiwanese mother. Presumably after successfully tackling a double major degree in Psychology and Theatre Studies at UCSD, Anthony went on to participate in the 5th season of One Million Star, a singing competition in Taiwan.

In 2009, Neely signed on with HIM International Music and has since released two albums. In 2010, he released his debut album Lesson One, which featured his promoted singles Nightmares and Sorry That I Loved You, among many others.

His 2012 album endeavor Wake Up features a pop-rock single by the same name, and his freshly released follow-up single Dear Death, which is a mellower love ballad.

With his trusty guitar by his side, Anthony Neely’s sound can be best described as romanticized Mandopop with English and Mandarin lyrical transitions that add a lovely dynamic to his songs, allowing transcendence from the usually shallow English lyrical inserts that litter most Asian music in general. Most of his tracks off both albums tend to be on the softer side, making him ideal for an easy listening on a Sunday afternoon.

However, he does have surprises up his sleeves by releasing heavily Pop-influenced tracks like Wake Up and You Are My Baby, his song featured in the movie 愛的麵包魂(The Soul of the Bread), in which Anthony co-stars. From what we see in his dramatic and often eccentric music videos as well as his movie feature, Neely has several talents up his sleeves. And it can’t hurt that he’s quite a looker, as well. Looking forward to his future releases, and I hope you all hop the Neely bandwagon with me!

I don’t always write about Berryz, but when I do, it’s to gush about their latest release. Check out their MV for their latest single cha cha SING!

Cover tracks are definitely a tricky beast and it takes some real production talent to remake and remaster the original, and I can’t even begin to imagine how much of a struggle it is to make it sound brand new. For the group’s 29th single endeavor, they covered the popular Thai song Row Mah SING, found below:

Quirky and no less catchy, I’d say the Berryz girls did a great job of covering the single and making it their own. As always, there’s nothing particularly special about the actual MV, but you can’t help but love what you’re given.

Loved everything about that simple, but perfectly colored backdrop. It was a lovely stand-out and definitely complimented the girls’ outfits. Even with the ridiculous prop crowns, the members looked lovely and I’m struggling to find anything to complain about regarding their appearance…I mean, besides Momo‘s pigtails, but what can you do?

The song is so freakin’ catchy and it just builds to the bridge apex following a I-SING-YOU-SING kind of pattern. The funky synth beat going on in the background between verses just highlights the overall quirky tone of the song, and if that’s not enough to get you up and off your seat, the fun choreography just might do the trick.

With the UFA busting out catchy summer melodies left and right, Berryz joins that melee and proves they can hold their own in the epic smosh of summer medleys. Be sure to support the artists and purchase one (or all four) of their CD editions for their single.

And if there was ever an excuse for you to go buck-wild before noon on a Monday workday, here it is. Check out the MV below!

Fans got a taste of this infectious song way back when the Wonder Girls first debuted their Nick movie around February, and ever since then, previews of the movie’s theme Like Money have been subjected to nonstop replays on and off YouTube and several other media sites. Only recently has JYP Entertainment been so gracious enough to drop MV teasers, with new snippets of the track and some insight into the music video.

Who would have thought the girls would be taking on a more futuristic theme with the video, and collaborate with one of America’s most notable front-runners of R&B Akon? The MV for Like Money takes a complete 180 from the retro-theme that we so often tag onto the Wonder Girls, but man is that change refreshing! The set for the video is super sleek and the editing is pure eye-candy. Though the monotony of the colors on the set are drab and dull, it fits the futuristic tone of the video and wraps things up altogether nicely.

The girls’ outfits remind me of something straight out of the movie The Fifth Element, with a modern Gaga flair and metallic touch that once again compliment the overall theme of the video. Gotta love that JYP cameo, as well.

I can’t even begin to describe the song. Saying bye bye to the hackneyed retro-hits has never felt so damn good. Like This was a modest attempt at something new, but personally that single lacked the staying-power necessary to be deemed a proper hit. Although the song is completely in English, it doesn’t sound foreign and contrived like the girls’ previous attempts. Everything about it melds perfectly into one infectious modern pop hit, complete with an egregious dosage of auto-tune and club beats. Definitely a redeeming song in comparison to the cringe-worthy DJ is Mine.

Akon was an interesting addition to the song, but his unique vocals don’t make it any less special. Along with SunYe and YeEun’s rich and full vocals at the chorus line, with SoHee and Lim’s masterful handle on the English lyrics of the verses, and Yoobin’s sexy cool rap, you’ve got the perfect summer smash down to keep the party pumping long into the night.

I know I said a while ago that I would promise to keep things are objective as possible (and come on, I think I deserve a high five for doing a pretty good job of that thus far), but when a veteran kpop group like Super Junior releases a new single that fails to meet personal expectations, all hell is bound to break loose.

For the most part, I consider myself a very casual fan of the group, and an occasional listener to kpop these days. And I suppose that should be reason enough for me to not hold any real expectations when it comes to the group and their respective releases, but I do what I want. So when I finally took the time to check out their latest MV release, it goes without saying I was rather lukewarm to the single, treading that fine line between apathy and straight up offended by the lack of growth. Now, I realize I’m talking about idol groups here, but if your company colleagues like f(x), SNSD, SHINee, EXO, etc. are at least putting a little more effort and time into exploring different concepts and genres, you’d think a heavyweight like suju would do the same.

If they’re considering the over-abuse of electronic vocal enhancers to be the pinnacle of their musical abilities, I am sorely disappointed. We’ve been spoon-fed this heap of digitized rubbish over and over again with singles like A-Cha, BONAMANA, and MR. Simple. It was alright when Sorry, Sorry first came out, but now it’s just overkill and exhausted. And one can hardly dismiss this as a case of “It’s their signature style,” because I do believe that auto-tune abuse is seen in just about every kpop group production. Their producers need a dose of inspiration from something outside the realm of robotics, please. Furthermore, I realize that not everyone in the group is capable of belting out coherent and aesthetically pleasing notes, but the trendy use of auto-tune is just insulting. Strong vocalists like Yesung and Kyuhyun just continue to be underutilized and it really brings me to tears. Though I am very happy to hear the group’s divas Sungmin and Ryeowook still working it.

Criticisms aside, I do enjoy the elaborate setting of the MV, but I am begging for something different. Sleek and clean in its design, it’s bound to make some jaws drop, but as with previous singles, been there and done that. Give me something new to chew on, boys. The choreography was nothing majorly inspiring, but it definitely brought to life the fun and free lyrics of the chorus. I offer Eunhyuk a high five for constantly carrying the weight of the group on his lord of the dance feet. Great job.

Finally, though the lyrics sound like something off of an OKCupid dating profile, the song for the most part is about finding courage and self-confidence to face whatever challenges lie on the horizon. And whether or not it is “Sexy, free and single and ready to mingle” or “bingo” doesn’t even matter to me anymore. It’s all a painfully contrived schematic of shoving English lyrics into a song, regardless of the nonexistent relevance it holds to the actual meaning. That said, though the boys of Super Junior insist that they’re sexy, free and single, I think I’m better off looking on eharmony to find someone just a bit more interesting =P

After a week or so of trolling from Tsunku and the UFA team, Morning Musume has finally released the full MV product of their 50th milestone single One Two Three. So was it worth the extended editing process? Or were fans once again trolled to oblivion? Let’s check it out below:

From the moment we’re introduced to that title screen, with enough sparkle and shine to rival that of a freshly opened bottle of champagne, we’re introduced to the whole “extended editing” post-film process that prolonged the wait. More on that later.

The dance portion of the song stays ever the same, with the addition of the slightly overpowering video edits of sparkles and lens flare glares, and different shooting angles of the girls for some solo emphasis.

The solo bits took on a very small, but interesting change. While we still happen to have the usual members-singing-against-a-very-simple-but-still-glitter-and-mirror backdrop, the team added a very interesting conceptual addition of model poses upon a rotating platform. It’s more of an extended solo pose shot of the introductory sequence on the title screen, but it’s still a very nice addition to the otherwise typical mix of dance and solo shots.

All in all, I’m a tad bit disappointed, but perhaps with all the talk and this being the 50th single and such a bangin’ good song, I had my hopes up a little too high. I’ll return to add some screenshots of the video later, but for now let’s talk about some personal thoughts. Yes, admit it, you know you were on the “THIS IS GOING TO BE SO AMAZING, THEY’RE TAKING SO LONG TO EDIT IT…Oh god, why is it crap?” bandwagon at one point. No need to be ashamed, I was on there, too after all. But in all honesty, I had really wanted to give Tsunku and the team the benefit of the doubt that they would really, really go all out and try something new with this single.

And mind you, they did try. It just so happens that they didn’t try according to our standards and once again failed to meet our expectations. But then again, do they ever? We all hoped that they’d break the mold and try something new. Plot? More outfits? Plot? Outdoors? Plot? But while we all bitch and moan about how the video lacked the pizazz appropriate of such a monumental single, let’s take a few moments to stop, breathe, and appreciate the small and easily overlooked points of mediocre progress made by the creative department.

First, it looks like the creative team has at least tried to graduate from using their beloved green screen and moved on to overlaying graphic effects directly onto shot video footage. I honestly don’t think any amount of green screen would have made any of those distracting effects any better, and they at least TRIED to add some glitz to the otherwise plain black/mirror/sparkly backdrop. Though the sparkles tend to be a double-edged sword in that they really do, at some points, tend to take away from the overall video and can be particularly distracting and slightly tacky.

I really wish they’d do something more with the rotating platform solo shots. I’m not exactly sure what I’m thinking of, nor what the director was thinking of, and maybe I just haven’t had enough coffee yet, but I feel as though they could have done something a little more than that. Though, if they were to take away the additional effects, the rotating solo stage and the mirror shots would have been sufficient enough to show off just how pretty the girls have gotten. Make-up heavy, but still glowing and gorgeous, the girls are all showing off a new, more mature sort of style that fits the song rather well. Besides, Dashii is looking so flawless.

EDIT: Now I know where I was going with the above comment. The rotating platform scene with the girls standing in their poses made them look particularly doll-like and peculiarly lifeless (for lack of a better term). It was almost like the introductory mannequin scene from SNSD‘s Gee. It would have been cool to see the girls try to transition from the mannequin-like facade and literally “break out” from their “lifeless shells” and one-by-one head on to the main set where they all come together to do the dance. That would have been cool, and would at least add an interesting transition.

So before we throw in the towel and burn effigies in our anger and disappointment, we should at least try to appreciate the team’s efforts at something somewhat new? And besides, we still have the Manterou Show MV to look forward, too right? Hey, I’m just trying to be positive here. If we constantly go into the promotional process with high expectations and quick criticisms, I don’t understand how anyone could actually take the time to be a fan and appreciate the work that was actually done. It’s good to expect something more, and to strive to work harder for something better, but sometimes it’s best to put your weapons down. It’s the little things, isn’t it? Not everything can be a kpop or whatever quality production, and with a company like the UFA, one really must learn to take value of the small details as opposed to the glaringly obvious.

Then again, this being the 50th single, I would think that the company would give half a shit’s worth to at least put more than the usual effort. I’m not sure what they’re thinking, trying to get away with pulling out a half-assed bit of glitter and glam to the usual MV recipe. For such a great song as this is, the PV is understandably disappointing for many. The fact that so many fans are so quick to dismiss “laziness” on the part of the company just shows how jaded we’ve become (including myself, yes), how used to low quality and how quick we are so dismiss the lack of effort as the usual. It’s sad really.

<del>Anyway, while I’m off to take some screenies</del>, I’d like to hear what you guys think of it!

I can’t even recall the last time I wrote something that was meant to talk about issues outside of music promotions and concerts. Must’ve been ’09 when I hated on everything, to be honest. But I’m digressing already.

So, as you may or may not have heard already, our wonderful ex-Morning Musume member Takahashi Ai has been Friday’d!

Now, usually when it comes to Friday, fans are smart enough to realize to take these articles with a grain of salt, regardless of their track record against other idols, especially under the UFA historical collection of scandals. Actually, regarding this particular “scandal” with Ai, fans are for the most part, taking it pretty well if it’s true. But what exactly are we being fed here?

Seems like the ex-idol has been spotted around with an R-1 celeb that’s 12 years her senior, rumored further to be living together and such. The lucky man happens to be Abe Kouji, whom Ai had worked with previously on her stage play “Hamlet.” Just because I can, check out some of these lovely unearthed evidence pieces dug up by our friends at 2ch.

Anyway, before I get accused of being no better than a devil’s advocate for the rumor mill, let’s get this out there: Good for Ai. For real. If it’s true, I’m glad she’s up and about and putting herself out there, because it’d be a crime otherwise. She’s always struck many as the type that seemed very work-driven and career-oriented like her senpais Abe Natsumi and Ishikawa Rika, and I personally doubt that “dating” will change any of that. Celebs need love, too after all.

Which brings me to the meat of the matter, finally. As aforementioned, I’m totally down with idols dating and engaging in blossoming relationships and what have you, because they’re only human. I’m sure several others feel the same way. But there will always be those fans that don’t take it so well, and well, that’s their issue I suppose.

Hopeless devotion can be such a scary thing and some people do tread that fine line sometimes. Perhaps not so evidently in jpop, but other such fandoms. I remember when it started becoming “cool” for kpop idols to come out with being in relationships and not having to be so stealthy when it came to personal times and dating their loved ones. Of course, there will always be those fans that cry out, “NO OPPA WHYYYYYY!?!?!” or something on a similar vein, and again, that’s all on them. Eventually with time, most fans outgrow that period of no acceptance and eventually “ship” it, anyway. Besides, going over to a male friend’s house to play a round of playstation is kind of cool these days, anyway.

I feel as though I’m preaching to a crowd that doesn’t need it. We’re all relatively mature fans when it comes to idols/celebs and their personal lives. High five, everyone! Personally speaking, I just love the seemingly dramatic differences between how jpop/kpop artists deal with these types of “issues” (if you can even call it that…) in relation to each other and in relation to the international fanbase, most specifically the states. From personal observations, Americans tend to make it a game, if you will. Like, “How long will so-and-so be together with so-and-so? Let’s place bets!” It’s a laughable gamble, and it’s kind of a shame that we take relationships and love for granted around here. It’s not something I’m particularly fond of. And perhaps the over-exposure and the severe violation of their personal lives is even worse and just makes fans and spectators even more jaded.

Luckily, kpop and jpop aren’t as extreme, though I suppose that’s arbitrary. Perhaps the most noise we hear are from those fans that might need a little reality check, but aside from that, most people tend to take it rather well and respect the couples for the most part when it comes to their relationships and private, personal lives. Even idols in particular (the ones that aren’t dating openly) tend to keep personal matters to a bare minimum on their respective blogs and twitters, and fans as a whole are generally accepting of that and respect it. It’s fun to observe the stark differences various countries have regarding privacy.

Besides, sometimes we all get caught up in the whole “scandal” issue that we often forget these idols are human. Sometimes we take their personal feelings and desires for granted since they have been placed on the highest unattainable pedestal as a piece of virginal carnage meant to be adored for their sense of purity and innocence. But hey, even idols get that urge to touch and be touched, to be held by someone, and to share those lovely intimate moments with their significant others because sometimes even they want to make all those cliche romance scenes a reality. It’s a fact of life.

So some final words for Ai and all those former idols, current idols, and celebs out in kpop and jpop world: You only live once. As fans, we only wish you the best, and hope that your special someone treats you with all the love you deserve.

EDIT: To appease those fans that aren’t all too happy with the news, Sanspo has just recently dropped an article confirming that both sides have denied “living together” and that both of them are “just good friends.” Whatever the matter, whatever. The girl’s got nothing to hide, and I’m sure whenever she’ll start dating, she’ll be more than happy to let us know.
